RACE PROGRAMME
Alex has committed to a hugely ambitious schedule – to race around the globe 3 times over the next 3 years. No one who knows him would doubt he has the courage and determination to take on this challenge and show he has what it takes to battle the most grueling of conditions. It will be a very challenging time for Alex, check through the 'Blagger's Guide' to see just how challenging each event will be!
2006
The first race is the VELUX 5 OCEANS which is the oldest, most established, continuously run, single-handed round the world yacht race.
2007
The second is the Barcelona World Race which is a new two-handed, non-stop round the world yacht race, covering 25,000 miles over three months.
2008
The third race is the pinnacle, and for Alex its unfinished business. The Vendee Globe is arguably the toughest and most extreme sporting event in the world – single-handed, non-stop – alone at sea for 80 – 100 days.
As well as participating in these three vigorous racing events, Alex will also be taking part in smaller races throughout the next three years. More details on these will be added as and when Alex announces them.
